Family Self-Sufficiency
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS)

The Family Self-Sufficiency Program provides opportunities for education, job training, counseling and other forms of social service assistance to qualified applicants with a goal to be self-sufficient. This program also allows the client to build an escrow account as erned income is acquired.

We are committed to providing resident initiatives and programs to assist our residents to become self-sufficient.  Agencies and programs in place to assist with self-sufficiency are:

  • GED Program with John Wood Community College
  • Continuing education at Vatterott College
  • After school tutoring
  • Teen Reach (16-2)
  • Neighborhood Watch
  • YMCA co-sponsored programs
  • Success by 6 initiatives (West Central Child Care Connection)
  • Girl Scouts
  • Work site for JTPA, DHS, Probation Department
  • Community Policing
  • Outreach (Recovery Resources)
  • Voucher Program
  • Adams County Health Department
  • Salvation Army
